Changing Scenery

So hard to keep up. Two day in San Blas, small fishing town in the mangroves. Great birding, relaxed. We had been there 10 years ago and enjoyed it so when back. The night bird watching and the high speed boat ride through the mangroves was a thrill!

It was peaceful in the mangroves as the sun set.

Next day in Puerto Vallarta. Bustling, we expected to say over night then leave. We found a wonderful, funky hotel and stayed 2 nights just for the hotel. Not like us.

We keep seeing comedians on this trip. We get some of the verbal, but it is HARD as they talk fast. These guys on the malecón in PV were good in that the comedy was easy even without the words.

We went to the botanical garden which was an enjoyable and peaceful day. There is a river in the garden and we took a little swim (allowed!) Two great dinners in PV to boot! The old town is nice!

A wonderful lunch on the beach (just looking for a spot to eat) on our way to Colima.

Lots of locals and a small gringo RV park right on the beach. A beautiful cove north of Manzanillo

A new city in a new state for us; Colima. A nice town in the hills/mountains 40 minutes above Manzinillo.  A rather big and bustling place. Very clean, although the air looked pretty dirty as we drove in (as did Manzanillo.) Really great roads in Colima. Even good 4-lane divided! Happened on a Mustang car show put on by the Colima Mustang Club. Cars, vendors, dancing and music.

Lots of nice Mustangs, and a few.... Mavericks.

All along the coast there has been lots of agriculture.  Not on huge industrial scale.  Smaller that then feeds up to bigger and bigger trucks.  And lots of fishing.  Based upon the number of pelicans along the coast,

Melons and fish or shrimp on their way to market. Both vehicles very commonly seen.

Tomorrow, farther down the coast. We expect this to be fairly devoid of tourist stuff, as is Colima. We saw only a gringo or two. Hoping for some pristine coastline ahead before turning left towards Mexico City.
